Testing has been done on the FCS II Fin System (over 4,000 cycles of installing & then removing the fin). When the surfboard fin is inserted into the fin plug, the barrel interacts with a groove detail in the fin to lock it into place creating a secure fit. The construction of the fin plug uses a corrosion resistant titanium tension rod and a rotating, wear-resistant polymer barrel.
