We said that we were going to try to get there early so we could get a table, and were told that if we got there by 5 p.m. They were told that they have a new policy of not taking reservations. Knowing that we had a big group, we asked if we could get an early reservation. They also bought some very good whisky to bring home from our trip! We planned on coming back that same day in the evening with friends for dinner. Great history lesson of the area and building.
Great fun and wonderful setting! My husband and son went on a tour of the Distillery and enjoyed it very much.
We visited High West during our ski trip to Deer Valley. Skip this place and eat at one of the MANY other places. We did like the s'more and donut dessert. Hands-down, the worst plate of food we have ever received at a restaurant. It's like ordering apple pie someplace and the apples are rotten.I am not asking for another piece of the pie. We are not sure if this is the norm for this dish at High West. But the quality of the meat we received was sub-par. The preparation of the short ribs were fine. 75% of what was served was fat.uneatable fat. We have had short ribs at many establishments, so we understand that this is a "fatty" piece of meat. We ordered several entrees from the menu. The night we were here, there were no off-menu specials (we asked). The drinks were good, if you like whiskey (and we do). The marketing of this place is great.not sure what they are doing to get people here but it works. We returned earlier the next evening (about 5 pm). We went by HW one evening and it was a 2+ hour wait. Park City has much more to provide besides this careless place sad part the whiskey and theme have hyped this place so much that it will always remain busy enough to provide you with junk and luckily they have an endless amount of visitors that only have to be let down once and live out of state to even care if they return again sadly locals will have to pay the price. all in all they made a good whiskey it has a theme but end of the day they are nothing more than a overly hyped dump with a theme save your money and wait time. Every other dish i have had is just over priced bland garbage. I've always came for the burger and that's all you I will ever come for. Staff and management standing around talking with no real interest in customers. 4 hosts bunched up behind a small desk when entering. service was poor basically once ever 15 minutes we would see the server never finished my entree over 3/4's remained on plate and pricey drink remained in glass very apparent to an attentive staff or manager that you are very dissatisfied with the experience, all i was asked was if we were ready to order more cocktails basically they are just looking to increase check price rather then take ownership or care for the failure they provided. Dead man boots great drink selection but Fools gold and astor hotel not a great selection at all. my cod was cooked better for 3 times less at dive bars. no reservations wait times of 2 hours constantly.
